Arne Slot’s Liverpool Set for PSG Clash in Champions League Round of 16

Liverpool head into their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg clash against Paris Saint-Germain in France with a strong lineup under new manager Arne Slot. The Dutchman has opted for an almost unchanged XI, with only Kostas Tsimikas making way for Andy Robertson, who returns for what could be his last European campaign with the club.

Liverpool’s starting XI features Alisson in goal, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté forming a solid central defensive partnership. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson will occupy the full-back positions, looking to contribute both defensively and in attack. In midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch provide creativity and control, while the attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, and Luis Díaz will be tasked with breaking down PSG’s defense.

Slot has a strong bench at his disposal, with goalkeepers Vítězslav Jaroš and Caoimhín Kelleher providing backup. Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Bobby Clark offer midfield options, while Darwin Núñez and Federico Chiesa could provide an attacking spark if needed. Defensively, Jarell Quansah and young talent Trey Nyoni are also available.

With Liverpool aiming for a deep European run, this first leg in Paris will be a true test of Slot’s ability to make the best out of the best as he seeks to continue the club’s rich Champions League legacy.
