Done Deal: Dele Alli Signs Three-Year Contract with Sunderland

Sky Sports reports that Sunderland have completed the signing of former England international Dele Alli on a three-year contract. The 28-year-old midfielder joins the Black Cats as a free agent after mutually terminating his deal with Serie A side Como, making him free to join any club.

Sunderland acted swiftly to secure Alli’s signature, seeing him as a crucial addition to strengthen their attacking midfield options. Manager Régis Le Bris is believed to have played a key role in convincing Alli to make the move, assuring him of regular playing time and a central role in the club’s long-term project.

Alli, who previously starred for Tottenham Hotspur and had spells with Everton and Besiktas, has been looking to reignite his career after a challenging few seasons. Sunderland view his arrival as a statement signing, bringing valuable Premier League experience, creativity, and leadership to their squad as they push for promotion.

Speaking after signing, Alli expressed his excitement about the new chapter:

“I’m really happy to be here. Sunderland is a club with a great history and massive support. I’m ready to give my best, enjoy my football again, and help the team achieve success.”

The Black Cats’ fans will be eager to see Alli in action, hoping his flair and vision can provide the spark needed in their Championship campaign. The deal is expected to be officially announced at the Stadium of Light before the weekend fixture.
