Done deal :Liverpool FC secure signature of Brighton Jan Paul van Hecke €35m agree

Liverpool FC have reportedly secured the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke on a pre-contract agreement ahead of the summer transfer window. The Dutch center-back, who has been a key player for Brighton this season, is set to join Liverpool for a €35 million fee, with both clubs reaching an agreement. Van Hecke has also agreed on personal terms with the Reds, making him the latest addition to Jürgen Klopp’s defensive options.

The signing of Van Hecke continues Liverpool’s growing connection with Dutch football. The Reds already have Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, and former player Georginio Wijnaldum, all of whom have represented the Netherlands at the international level. With Van Dijk leading the defense and Gakpo excelling in attack, Van Hecke’s arrival adds further depth and quality to Liverpool’s squad.

At 23 years old, Van Hecke has impressed with his composure, aerial ability, and defensive intelligence at Brighton. His performances in the Premier League have caught the attention of top clubs, and Liverpool sees him as a valuable addition for the future. His arrival could provide competition for Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez, ensuring Liverpool has solid defensive options alongside Van Dijk.

Liverpool are clearly planning for the future, strengthening key areas as they look to remain competitive in both domestic and European competitions. Van Hecke’s signing could prove to be a smart investment, ensuring the club has the defensive stability needed to challenge for trophies.
