Collingwood fans — the wait is over! The Magpie Army has a new target man up front as Jack Buller officially joins the club following a last-minute trade with the Sydney Swans on the final day of the Continental Tyres Trade Period.
The move sees the 24-year-old key forward make his way to the AIA Vitality Centre, with Collingwood also securing a 2026 fourth-round selection in the deal. In exchange, Sydney receives a 2026 third-round pick. It’s a smart piece of business by the Pies, adding both depth and future flexibility as the club continues to build for sustained success.
Buller, standing at an impressive 199cm, brings strength, athleticism, and versatility to the Magpies’ forward line. Known for his contested marking and strong work rate, he can also rotate through the ruck, giving coach Craig McRae another tactical option heading into the 2026 season.
Since being drafted by Sydney in the 2023 Mid-Season Draft from Claremont Football Club in Western Australia, Buller has steadily developed into a capable AFL player. Over three seasons, he has played 10 games, nine of which came in 2025 — a sign of his growing confidence and impact at the top level.
This year, Buller kicked 11 goals, including a standout performance in Round 24, where he slotted three majors against West Coast. His ability to create scoring opportunities and apply pressure inside 50 makes him a valuable addition to Collingwood’s attacking setup.
